SAY HELLO!

Welcome to Kids Own Early Childhood Learning Centre

We would like to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Island people as the traditional custodians of this country and their connection to the land, water and community in which we live.

At Kids Own ECLC we value early childhood education as the foundation for lifelong learning. We believe that each child is a unique individual and should be viewed, respected and treated as such.

As the well being of each child is paramount, we strive to provide holistic support of the child’s exclusive requirements and interests in a nurturing, familiar environment that fosters the child’s development across all developmental domains. Children’s natural curiosity is nurtured and stimulated in an environment that owes much to the Reggio Emilia approach to learning where the children are encouraged to make discoveries, develop theories, imagine, explore and interpret.

Our unique, enquiry-based approach embraces the many languages of childhood and encourages children to become enthusiastic participants and communicators, actively contributing to their own learning.

Our values and ethos are bound by a passion to provide young minds with the ability, means and skills to enable and sustain future growth and development. Our philosophy and values can be summed up as the following:

Children are seen as; people, competent, confident learners, friends and teachers who will learn through play and learn in the moment.

We believe every child has the right to make choices in regards to their learning.
We believe every child should feel a strong sense of well-being.
We believe that the environment should reflect our love of nature and our views on sustainability.
We believe that the environment is the 'third teacher' and therefore it is essential that our physical environment invites and inspires engagement and exploration.
We believe in building relationships with families and the greater community. Encouraging a high degree of involvement and participation as families are the foundation in children’s growth and development.
We believe the early years are the foundation years and by providing meaningful learning experiences we can cultivate a love of learning.
We believe that learning is ongoing and we constantly seek to develop our own knowledge and thereby offer richer experiences to the children in our care.

SAY HELLO!

Make a difference in the life of a child with special needs, create an inclusive community and improve yourself!

Types of special needs vary in severity. People with autism, Down syndrome, dyslexia, blindness, ADHD, or cystic fibrosis, for example, may be considered to have special needs. However, special needs can also include cleft lips, or missing limbs.

More about us

How  Child Care Subsidy works?

Child Care Subsidy (CSS) works on three factors:

1

Activity Test

An activity test will determine how many hours of subsidised care families can access, up to a maximum of 100 per fortnight.

2

Family Income

A family’s combined income will determine the percentage of subsidy they are eligible to receive.

3

Childcare Service

The type of child care service will determine the hourly rate cap. Some basic requirements must be satisfied for an individual to be eligible to receive the Child Care Subsidy.

How to estimate your CCS: Online calculator

To determine what your CCS might be, you can use the Government's online calculator.

Our Top Tip
  • The best way to apply for CCS is through your MyGov Account that is linked to Centrelink.
  • Use our Subsidy Calculator to get an estimate of how much you could expect to receive.
  • Apply for CCS as soon as you find a centre that you and your child are happy with. This way, it will be set up and ready to go for your child's  first day of care. You will also need to confirm your Complying Written Agreement CWA.
  • Be sure to download the Centrelink app which can be very helpful, specially if you change your work situation and need to update your hours.
  • Ask one of our friendly team members at Kids Own Early Childhood Learning Center to check your enrolment form as well as your subsidy to insure it is ready for you to start.
  • Finally take advantage of our flexible hours below and choose the option that suits your families needs best. We can alter hours should you require alternative care hours. (Call us today)
